Logistical Questions for Stress-Free Moving

August 9th, 2009 by Miami Moving

Moving involves careful planning. Most adequately, start planning at around 6 months prior to the moving date itself to eliminate possible moving problems. Unfortunately, no matter how hard we prepared, organized and projected well, almost always there would be something to break the otherwise smooth and worry-free moving come the big day.

The problem lies with simple overlooking of the basic logistical questions that need to be asked when moving specifically that of the supposed new home you are moving into. Most people who are looking forward to moving focus more to the home he or she is about to abandon without ever thinking of the house they are moving into which naturally, needs to be considered as well. Let me tell you, most additional fees and charges come from this point of negligence. Possible problems coming from this side of things can be prevented when you know what questions to ask. Remember these points when inquiring about your new place:

·    Some apartment buildings and condo units have special moving hours in consideration with other tenants. Be sure to know these things to avoid delays and inconveniences.
·    In cases when a building is too high, inquire if there is a special route tenants could take when moving their belongings in. Special routes are made with wider doors and usually out of everybody’s sight, making your move a lot easier.
·    Take measurements just so you would know if your furniture will fit. Include any doors you will potentially pass through.
·    Make sure that the moving truck has an adequate space to park in front of your new home. If not, movers will be forced to carry your stuff which will only mean additional fee to pay.
